The Ratings

The Energy Performance Certificate gives an Energy Efficiency Rating, an Enviromental Impact (CO2) Rating and an assessment of the key individual elements that have an impact on the performance rating.

The performance is rated by square metre of floor area, fuel costs and CO2 emissions.

The Energy Efficiency Rating and Enviromental Impact Ratings will give a measure of the current level and the potential levels if proposed improvements are undertaken, shown in both numerical and banded (by letter and colour) ratings.

The key individual elements of the report are shown in the summary table where the walls, roof,floor, windows, main heating, main heating controls, secondary heating, hot water and lighting are all given a current performance assessment of either very poor, poor, average, good or very good. This table gives a quick check of how the individual elements fair.

There is a table on the first page of the report which gives an estimate of the properties estimated current energy use, carbon dioxide emmissions and fuel costs.

Also included in the certificate are further tables showing how potential improvements could improve the efficiency and enviromental impact, as well as typical monetary savings.
